IRVINE | California — April 2026 — Roland DGA has announced the North American launch of the VersaOBJECT™ LO-640-F3, a next-generation 64-inch UV flatbed printer engineered for high-volume, high-precision direct-to-object printing across a wide range of substrates up to 9.5 inches (242 mm) thick.
Designed to significantly increase production efficiency without compromising image quality, the LO-640-F3 delivers print speeds of up to 332 square feet per hour (30.8 square meters per hour) in CMYK x2 mode—approximately three times faster than its predecessor, the CO-640i. The system targets sign, industrial, and customization-focused operations looking to streamline workflows, reduce operational costs, and expand application capabilities.
With support for materials including plastic, wood, leather, glass, and metal, the LO-640-F3 enables direct printing on both flat and three-dimensional objects such as bottles, toys, and specialty items, including those with irregular or curved surfaces. Its robust construction supports objects weighing up to 220.5 pounds (100 kg), expanding production flexibility for larger-format and heavier applications.
The printer is equipped with dual high-precision printheads and high-power UV-LED lamps, enabling consistent, high-definition output of fine text, textures, and gradients—even at elevated production speeds. Ink configuration includes EUV5 inks in CMYK plus Orange and Red, along with White, Clear, and Primer options. White ink provides high-opacity base layers for dark or transparent materials, while Orange and Red extend color gamut for accurate brand reproduction. Clear ink enables gloss, matte, and textured effects, including simulated embossing, while Primer expands compatibility to challenging substrates such as glass and metal.
The LO-640-F3 is bundled with VersaWorks® 7 RIP software, offering enhanced processing performance and compatibility with both macOS and Windows environments. Integration with Roland DG Connect provides cloud-based device monitoring, workflow optimization, and operational insights, while PrintAutoMate supports efficient high-mix, low-volume production environments.
According to Roland DGA, the LO-640-F3 is positioned for production sign shops, promotional product manufacturers, packaging prototype labs, and industrial decorators seeking to increase throughput, reduce turnaround times, and expand customization capabilities.
