Tesla interrompt son service d'emballage interne pour le Cybertruck

par Personnel

AUSTIN | Texas – November 2024 – Tesla has officially ended its in-house wrap service for the Cybertruck, just two months after narrowing the wrap color options from 11 to three. This decision leaves Cybertruck owners with limited customization options, although Tesla continues to offer wrap services for its highly popular Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

Initially launched in October 2023, Tesla’s wrap service was introduced as a way for customers to add a personalized touch to their vehicles. The Cybertruck, with its unique angular design and stainless steel body, was an ideal canvas for wraps that enhanced its futuristic aesthetic. However, the service, priced up to $6,500 and available only at three Service Centers in California, faced limitations in accessibility and affordability.

In September 2024, Tesla reduced the Cybertruck wrap options to three finishes: Satin Ceramic White, Satin Rose Gold and Satin Stealth Black. Now, the Cybertruck wrap service has been removed entirely from Tesla’s website and mobile app, marking a significant shift in customization availability for the electric pickup.

Note de la rédaction :

Tesla has not issued an official statement regarding the discontinuation, but several factors may have influenced the decision. The Cybertruck’s relatively small production volume and limited market, combined with the high cost and restricted installation locations, likely contributed to the change. By reallocating resources to the Model 3 and Model Y, Tesla appears to be focusing on its high-demand models that offer broader appeal and greater scalability for the wrap service.

The discontinuation of Tesla’s in-house wrap service for the Cybertruck opens up a significant business opportunity for third-party vehicle wrapping providers. With Tesla owners consistently seeking ways to personalize their vehicles, independent wrap specialists can now fill the void by offering a wider range of colors, finishes and price points. The Cybertruck’s unique stainless steel exoskeleton presents a standout canvas for creative designs, while the continued demand for wraps on popular models like the Model 3 and Model Y ensures a steady market. Additionally, third-party providers can capitalize on the flexibility of offering their services in locations beyond Tesla’s limited Service Centers, making customization more accessible and affordable for Tesla’s growing customer base.
