FastSewn to Make Americas Debut at Printing United 2024

First fully automated cut and sew from rolls in one seamless process

by Staff

AARHUS | Denmark – SCOTTSDALE | Arizona – September 2024: Mikkelsen Innovation ApS is proud to introduce FastSewn, a revolutionary, fully automated cutting and sewing system, now available in the Americas. For the first time, our new technology integrates both cutting and sewing directly from rolls in one seamless process.

Building on our legacy of innovation, this groundbreaking system combines advanced flatbed cutters and laser cutting with sewing capabilities. This system can now finish 2D graphics into any required contour. It was showcased at Texprocess 2024 in Frankfurt, where it received an award for Economic Quality Innovation.

This new technology utilizes a patent-pending conveyor deviation that allows access to the sewn material from both sides, enhancing the already well-known flatbed cutting solutions.

Many will recall our early work in the 2000s with i-cut®, when Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering (MGE) introduced cutting-edge software and sheet feeders that continue to operate today. After MGE was sold to Kongsberg Precision Cutters in 2008, we continued our mission of developing advanced solutions.

Our next venture led to the development of MCT’s Versatech lasers and cutters, which became the first system to offer both laser and knife cutting, as well as routing, from rolls or flat goods. After Gerber Technology acquired the company in 2018, your continued support of our innovations has been invaluable.

Now, with FASTSEWN Flatbed, we take innovation even further. This system allows one or more layers of rolled goods to be automatically sewn and laser-cut into nearly any 2D shape or contour, without the need for frames. This breakthrough offers unmatched speed, precision, and efficiency, making it a game-changer for textile manufacturing.

We invite you to visit us at Printing United at the VTX Cutting Tools Booth (C935). Steen Mikkelsen, Nikolai Mikkelsen, and Steve Aranoff, Co-Founders of FastSewn, will be there to showcase this groundbreaking technology and discuss how it can revolutionize your production capabilities, particularly for those looking to re-shore textile manufacturing.
