Printomize America introduces a new way to apply DTF transfers for print-on-demand — patent-pending, order-driven, and fully automated, delivering 300+ different prints per hour, with labor savings projected to pay for the machine within a year
TORRANCE | California – September 2026 – Printomize America, an innovator of direct-to-film (DTF) printing equipment and supplies, has announced the Hyper Stamp POD, a patent-pending, roll-to-roll carousel heat press system built for high-mix, print-on-demand (POD) garment decoration. Designed and developed by Printomize America and engineered in partnership with Microtec, the system applies transfers continuously from a printed film roll, automatically matches each design to its intended garment, and presses more than 300 different prints per hour.
How It Works
Conventional DTF application is manual. An operator cuts each transfer, positions it on a garment by eye, presses it, and peels the film — one piece at a time. That throughput ceiling is the biggest bottleneck for POD businesses handling thousands of one-off design orders a day.
Larger POD operations have automated part of this process with conventional pick-and-place carousel heat presses. But those systems still depend on a separate cutting department — typically several flatbed cutters — to cut every transfer to a fixed size before it can be picked and placed. Because the pick-and-place mechanism requires that fixed footprint, an 8 x 8 in design uses the same amount of film as an 11 x 11 in design, and the spacing between cuts adds more waste. Keeping pace with production typically takes four to six flatbed cutters and four to six employees for the cutting step alone.
The Hyper Stamp POD removes the cutting step entirely. It combines a continuous roll-to-roll film feed with a rotating carousel heat press — no flatbed cutting, no fixed transfer size, and no cutting department:
- Load and go — the carousel indexes each station automatically as garments are loaded. Operators load; the system handles the rest.
- Smart code reader — a built-in reader scans a code on every transfer, tied to the order’s garment style, color, size, and design, and tells the operator exactly which garment to load next.
- Automatic film registration — the system senses and corrects film drift in real time, keeping each transfer aligned under the press across long runs.
- Clean film release — the film separates from the print without pulling or wrinkling the garment, supporting reliable multi-station operation.
- Custom-lane slitting — a single printed roll is slit into the lane widths each product needs, then loaded into the system. Slitting is fast, needs little supervision, and can be run by an entry-level employee.
Together, these features turn DTF application from a one-piece-at-a-time manual task into a continuous, automated flow — with the per-item accuracy that mixed-design POD orders demand.
Built to Pay for Itself
By eliminating flatbed cutting and the film waste of fixed-size transfers, the Hyper Stamp POD can replace an entire cutting department. Where a conventional pick-and-place carousel operation typically staffs that department with four to six flatbed cutters and four to six employees, the Hyper Stamp POD needs only a roll slitter — a fast, low-supervision step an entry-level employee can run. Printomize America projects that labor and material savings will pay for the machine within its first year for a typical POD shop running the system at volume.
