NAGANO | Japan – April 2024 – Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, has announced that Avery Dennison (headquartered in Mentor, OH, U.S.A.) has adopted its UV curable inkjet printer for a new model of its traffic sign printing system, TrafficJet Xpress, which will be launched at INTERTRAFFIC AMSTERDAM 2024 (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), which will be held from April 16th – 19th.

The Avery Dennison TrafficJet Print System is a digital print platform that prints on reflective sheeting for   traffic signs, vehicle marking, and traffic devices. Avery Dennison manufactures reflective sheeting and digital inks and provides customers with printer installation and service. It features a long-term digital sign warranty of up to 15 years for outdoor exposure. Since the company began offering its first system in 2013, it has been supporting the digitalization of the traffic sign manufacturing process around the world. In 2020, the company also began offering TrafficJet Pro, a high-speed printer for high-volume production that uses UV-curable ink, which allows post processing immediately after printing without ink drying time, with the added advantage of a more environmentally friendly UV printing solution.

TrafficJet Xpress is based on the Mimaki’s UV-curable inkjet printer, which will be used in the new entry-level system, offering the advantage of UV printing to sign shop at all production levels.

The selection of Mimaki by Avery Dennison further strengthens the partnership between the two companies. Customers are expected to gain added value in traffic signage production using the products and solutions offered by both companies.
