IRVINE, California – January 2024 – Roland DGA Corporation, a leading name in wide-format digital imaging, is thrilled to unveil the latest addition to its VersaSTUDIO family – the BD-8 UV flatbed printer. As the first flatbed UV printer in Roland DG’s VersaSTUDIO series, the BD-8 is set to revolutionize product personalization, making it more accessible and affordable than ever.

Compact yet powerful, the BD-8 offers high-definition direct printing on substrates and three-dimensional objects up to A5 size and four inches (102 mm) in height. This advanced UV flatbed printer is designed for versatility, enabling users to create a diverse range of personalized items such as smartphone cases, notebooks, and cosmetic items quickly and easily. An optional rotary axis unit is available for printing around cylindrical objects like small bottles and lipstick cases.

The BD-8 utilizes specially formulated EUV5 inks that cure instantly under UV light, ensuring vibrant and durable prints on various surfaces, including fabric, leather, wood, and plastics. With options for CMYK and White inks, users can enhance their creations with rich, colorful graphics. The printer’s small footprint, ease of use, and affordability make it an ideal choice for start-ups, smaller print shops, retail stores, and home-based businesses.

Dave Hawkes, Roland DGA’s Benchtop UV Printer Product Manager, emphasized the uniqueness of the BD-8, stating, “It offers unsurpassed ease of use, high-definition image quality, and optimum safety. With a built-in fume extractor and GREENGUARD Gold certified inks, it meets the most stringent standards for low VOC emissions into indoor air.”
