PHOENIX | Arizone – October 2025 – MUTOH America, Inc. drew strong attention at PRINTING United 2025 with the U.S. debut of its HydrAton 1642 roll-to-roll printer, powered by AQUAFUZE™ water-based UV technology. The showcase marked the first public demonstration of this hybrid ink system in North America — blending the environmental benefits of water-based formulations with the instant curing performance of UV technology.

The HydrAton 1642 demonstration gave attendees an up-close look at how AQUAFUZE™ delivers low-odor, low-VOC printing with instant curing and strong adhesion — all without primers or post-coatings. The prints’ ultra-thin, scratch-resistant finish and ability to handle heat-sensitive media at lower drying temperatures impressed attendees focused on sustainable production and energy efficiency.

Already recognized in Europe with a 2025 EDP Award for Innovation, the HydrAton 1642 showcased its ability to produce vivid, durable graphics suitable for wallpaper, décor, retail signage, and indoor displays — areas where low odor, fast turnaround, and sustainability are key.

“We wanted to show the industry that AQUAFUZE™ isn’t just a concept — it’s ready for real-world production,” said Brian Phipps, President of MUTOH America. “The feedback from PRINTING United was incredibly positive, and we’re excited to see how print providers will integrate this technology into their workflows.”

MUTOH’s live demonstrations drew continuous traffic to their booth, with visitors eager to see the print speed, color vibrancy, and post-print handling of this next-generation system.
