Xaar, Nazdar Ink Technologies Announce Collaboration

von Personal

CAMBRIDGE |United Kingdom and ST. LOUIS | Missouri – June 2024 – Xaar, a leading inkjet printhead manufacturer, and Nazdar Ink Technologies, a global ink developer and manufacturer, today announced a groundbreaking collaboration that is rewriting the rulebook for aqueous inkjet printing.

This joint effort has resulted in the creation of the HighV Aqua Series, a high-viscosity pigmented water-based inkset specifically designed to deliver disruptive performance benefits in the Direct-to-Garment (DTG), corrugated, and outer case printing sectors.

Breakthrough Innovation in DTG Printing

Nazdar’s cutting-edge R&D team has developed a new fluid technology that achieves exceptional clarity and high pigment loads while minimizing raw material and energy use. This translates to vibrant, color-rich textiles printed with significantly less ink and fewer printhead passes, leading to substantial reductions in production time and energy consumption.

“By reducing ink usage and energy consumption during drying, while simultaneously increasing production speed, water-based inkjet can become a mainstream production method,” said Martin Burns, Nazdar OEM Business Development Manager. “Bringing this technology to market is the result of a strong partnership with Xaar, and something we’re excited to finally share with the industry.”

Unmatched Efficiency for Textile Printing

The HighV Aqua Series features a high viscosity white ink that, when combined with Xaar’s Aquinox printhead equipped with TF Technology for ink recirculation, delivers unmatched efficiency for high-quality textile printing.

Double the Speed, Sustainable Advantages

The higher pigment loading and lower water content in the HighV Aqua Series significantly reduce printing times and material usage. Overall, production speeds can be more than doubled, making inkjet printing a viable option for a wider range of decorative applications.

“Aqueous inks containing high pigment loading and a lower ratio of water mean inkjet is now able to deliver the performance, sustainability, and innovation demanded, rewriting the rulebook for textile printing and many other applications,” said Karl Forbes, Xaar’s Group R&D Director.
