New production and technology center strengthens Durst Group’s international growth strategy and Italy’s role in digital textile printing<\/em><\/h6>\n

COMO | Italy \u2013 June 2026 \u2013<\/b> Groupe Durst<\/strong><\/a>, an international industrial group headquartered in Brixen\/Bressanone with revenues of \u20ac430+ million ($500+ million)<\/strong>, is launching Durst Como,<\/strong><\/a> a new production and technology hub in the heart of the Como textile district, strengthening its international growth strategy and reinforcing Italy’s role in the development of advanced solutions for digital textile printing.<\/p>\n

A Long-Term Commitment<\/b><\/p>\n

“Como has been printing the world’s textiles for generations. We are not here to pass through. We are here to stay,” said Christoph Gamper, CEO and Co-Owner of Durst Group. “Durst Como is a long-term commitment: European technology<\/strong><\/a>, built here, for the world.”<\/p>\n

A Decade of Textile Investment<\/b><\/p>\n

Over the past 12 years, Durst Group has invested more than \u20ac50 million ($58 million) in its textile business, developing international markets, enhancing laboratory infrastructure, and strengthening its sites in Brixen\/Bressanone and Kufstein, Austria. With revenues topping \u20ac430 million ($500 million)<\/strong>, the Group is targeting double that over the next five years.<\/p>\n

Built on the Aleph Acquisition<\/b><\/p>\n

Durst Como stems from Durst’s acquisition of Aleph, a company specialized in inkjet solutions for direct-to-fabric and paper printing. The acquisition was initiated in 2023 and completed in 2025; Aleph has since fully merged into Durst Group S.p.A., extending the Group’s decade-long textile presence from Kufstein into Como, a hub internationally recognized for textile supply chain and fashion expertise.<\/p>\n

Third R&D and Production Site<\/b><\/p>\n

Durst Como becomes the Group’s third development and production site with R&D capabilities, joining Brixen\/Bressanone and Lienz. The hub will focus on Inkjet technology<\/strong><\/a> development and production for fashion and home textiles, growing over time into a center for customer collaboration and textile automation and software. Kufstein remains the Group’s hub for superwide and special developments, including drying solutions for superwide textile and graphics applications.<\/p>\n

Industry Milestone<\/b><\/p>\n

“This project represents a key milestone in our growth journey,” said Alessandro Manes, Director Global Sales Industrial Textile, Durst Group. “Our objective is to create in Como a highly specialized technology and production hub, capable of attracting expertise, developing new professional skills, and generating new opportunities for the local area.”<\/p>\n

Built for Sustainability<\/b><\/p>\n

The new Durst Como HQ will be developed within an existing building, avoiding new land consumption, and will follow energy redevelopment criteria targeting 100% non-fossil energy. Plans include heat pumps to replace current gas heating and, in the project’s first phase, an approximately 600 kWp<\/strong> photovoltaic system generating 100% green electricity. Durst Como will also host a bee colony, supporting biodiversity in line with initiatives at the Group’s other sites.<\/p>\n
