During the recent\u00a0Printing United Expo 2025,\u00a0DuPont\u00a0made waves with a major announcement \u2014 the upcoming launch of its new\u00a0Jettable Adhesive, designed to\u00a0eliminate the need for DTF powder.<\/p>\n
While DuPont\u2019s reveal drew plenty of attention, the concept isn\u2019t entirely new. Over the past six months,\u00a0World Imaging News\u00a0has covered similar innovations from other manufacturers who are also developing\u00a0powder-free DTF printing solutions. The first was\u00a0BestJet Ink\u00a0from Taiwan exhibited at FESPA 2025, and at this year\u2019s show,\u00a0Hongsam\u00a0(China) and\u00a0Matsui Ink\u00a0(Japan) were also demonstrating their own approaches to this evolving technology.<\/p>\n
As powder-free DTF gains traction, two main methodologies are emerging for applying the\u00a0liquid or jettable adhesives.<\/p>\n
Most manufacturers \u2014 including\u00a0DuPont, Matsui, and JetBest\u2014 are using a\u00a0dedicated print head\u00a0channel\u00a0specifically for the adhesive. However,\u00a0Nur Ink\u00a0is taking a different approach by\u00a0integrating the adhesive into the white ink channel.<\/p>\n
The advantage of Nur\u2019s method is clear: because the adhesive is part of the white ink formulation,\u00a0any existing DTF printer\u00a0can use it immediately, without the need for additional printhead channels. Printers with only four-color setups, for example, could adopt the technology without hardware modifications.<\/p>\n
DuPont: Currently in\u00a0alpha testing, with shipments expected to begin in\u00a0Q2 2026.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Nur Ink: Already in\u00a0beta testing, with commercial availability targeted for\u00a0Q4 2025.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Matsui Ink: In production now, with\u00a0U.S. inventory expected within two months.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
BestJet Ink\u00a0and\u00a0Hongsam:\u00a0Already shipping\u00a0their solutions to customers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The next 12 months could mark a major turning point for DTF technology \u2014 and the shift away from powder may be one of the most transformative developments in textile printing yet.<\/p>\n
